Gave it a Bash

I bought Cricut cartridge 'Birthday Bash' quite a while ago but it seems I'm only just getting around to playing with it!  Check out the Birthday Bash cartridge here.

I needed to make a princess type card for a friends daughter and then I got carried away and made a couple more cards too.  I'm not really a card-making gal, but I've had a huge amount of fun making three kids cards tonight. 

I used cardstock to make the cards (usually I use patterned paper), and also the Cuttlebug with only a few extra items (rhinestones and googley eyes).

'A little bird told me...'
'Hip, hippo hooray'
'Royal wishes'

This weeks entry for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge - to use a Cricut cartridge that you haven't used for a while...  This layout mostly uses George & Basic shapes but also Opposites Attract and Mini Monograms.  All oldies but goodies!

This layout ONLY uses Cricut cuts, no additional embellishments were used.

Layout of me in my youth jumping out of a plane - SUCH fun!  I used the vibrant colours of the Cherry Arte paper as inspiration to make my embellishments and used black and white cardstock for the title and word phrase so they would 'pop' off the page.

Recipe Book

I made this recipe book for the January Class-in-a-kit from Better Scrapbooking.  Its a free-standing recipe book that was fun to make.  You can buy the kit with step-by-step instructions, photos and all the supplies required to make this recipe book at the Better Scrapbooking shop.

Summer Holiday layout

Here's my entry for the Better Scrapbooking layout challenge - 'Summer Holidays'.  Photos are from a while back but still, summer holidays are all about swimming!

Making cupcakes?

My son went through a stage of making (strange) cupcakes out of a sofa cushion, a blanket and his sisters bike.  It was such a crazy, imaginative thing that I wanted to tell the story. 

I made the cupcake from the 'Celebrations' cartridge and the font was 'Hello Kitty Font'.  I used Junkitz freebie paper from Scrapbook Inspirations magazine and focussed on the bright (clashing) colours from Lachie's 'cupcake'.  I used circles as a continuing theme through the layout as an embellishment spot and also for journalling.  Small circles were punched around each feature circle and co-ordinating colours were placed behind each hole.
