March ScrapPack

The March ScrapPack from Better Scrapbooking is awesome.  The Theresa Collins Celebration range is funky and bold and screams fun!  Although its a birthday range, only one of my four layouts was actually birthday related, so I found it very versatile and I had a lot of fun creating with it.

I was in the middle of moving houses when my pack arrived so it was a bit of a struggle to get it all done by the deadline.  The layouts are simplistic this time around but I hope I've done this wonderful pack justice!

Check out the March newsletter at Better Scrapbooking to get step-by-step instructions on how to create the following and check out what the other girls on the design team have done with the same pack.

Dino-mite

My latest layout using the awesome Dino-roar collection from Imaginesce which I got from Better Scrapbooking.  Some rolled edges, twine, embossed letters and dinosaur bones to journal on and its all done!

While my daughter was having her afternoon nap, big brother and his dinosaurs decided to attack the My Little Pony house - very funny I thought!

Mow town

The Cooking with Cricut Challenge this week is all about using two shades of green (and of course something cut with a Cricut).

My layout is about my wee lad helping his Dad mow the lawns - VERY cute I reckon.  I've used grass strips from Zooballoo and shadowed letters from Mickey Font.  For my journalling block, I welded together a grass strip and a rectangle from George & Basic Shapes.

Family tree

My tree layout for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge this week.

Here's my family tree in December 2007 - now I have two monkeys!  This layout is done entirely using Cricut cuts.  I could only include the parents on the tree plus the two sisters but my nephew is represented by the bird and my then in-utero niece as the egg in the nest!  Had alot of fun doing this layout and by far the hardest part was getting all the photos together!

The tree, monkey, grass and bird are from Zooballoo.  Letters from Mini Monograms.  Leaves from Accent Essentials and the flowers are from George and Basic Shapes.                       .

March Challenges

Check out the online challenges at Better Scrapbooking this month;

Layout Challenge: Use your old one off bits left over from your stash, i.e. the last flower from a set, odd brads/eyelets, rub-ons/odd piece of chipboard, etc.

Photo Challenge: Everyday life.  Take a photo of something that represents your everyday life.

Project Challenge:  Create a mini album using old CD's

Card Challenge: Create a card with cupcakes on it

Here's my take on the  layout challenge.  I used one bird brad and had one swirly rub-on left from a pack.  My then baby girl wearing her new party dress.

Vroom

Cooking with Cricut is having a 'Double take' challenge this week with each project to have the minimum following requirements;
  1. 2 pieces of cardstock (preferably two different colors)
  2. 2 pieces of patterned paper (preferably different patterns)
  3. 2 embellishments
My layout entitled 'Vroom'
  1. Black & white cardstock
  2. Scenic route & Basic Grey patterned paper
  3. Chipboard cogs, screw brads, ribbon, ticket, T-shirt tag
Cricut cut components are the road strip from My Community cartridge.  I used the negative cut from a car (also from My Community), and inked it to make a stamp print.

New magazine is here

The new revamped New Zealand papercraft magazine is out!  Now called NZ Paper Chase (was Up2Scrap), this is New Zealands only magazine of its kind.

I have two layouts published in this edition as part of the Alpha Monogram series (pages 34 & 35).  Fellow Better Scrapbooking Design Team member Tracy Palmer also has two layouts in there too.
