Happy Birthday little sis!

A big Happy Birthday to my little sister Helen today!

I made her a Russian doll card (who doesn't love Russian dolls??) using Cricut cartridge 'Paisley' and words from 'Celebrations'.  I decided to do a concertina card  with a diagonal slant for something a bit different.  I would have loved to have done the same amount of dolls as her age but I didn't have nearly that much cardstock!  LOL.

Monster birthday party

My five-year old son wanted a Monster birthday party.  He's into monsters in a big way and I thought it pretty apt for a five-year boys party!

I made the invites and loot bags using Cricut cartridge 'Mini Monsters'.  I decorated balloons with googly eyes and horns (cut using the Cricut again).

Party food (which I wish I'd taken photos of!!!) included monster cupcakes, snakes in jelly and plastic insects in ice blocks.  The cake was a large rounded cake with piped butter icing, ice-cream cone horns, marshmallow eyes, white chocolate teeth and a spineful of birthday candles.

Orange baby

Well I finally got around to doing my Monochromatic orange layout for the Better Scrapbooking August Challenge. Just a few days left for you to enter your orange layout by the end of the month.

It was my son's 5th birthday recently and we got him a 'flaming orange bike', so it worked well this this months challenge.

I cut the five banner from Cricut cartridge 'Graphically Speaking' and party hat from ' Celebrations'.  My obsession with bakers twine also featured... I used it to frame my layout.

BMX fun

Here is my take on the August sketch from NZ Paper Chase

My two little ones had a go on the BMX track (with a little help from Dad).

I used a hambly screen print over black cardstock, embossed Black Magic Core'dinations cardstock, raw chipboard cogs, twine, staples, rolled paper and did lots of machine stitching.  The ttitle was cut using Cricut cartridges 'Dude' and 'Plantin Schoolbook'.  I altered my the colour hues on my photos to give them an edgy look.  I had fun doing this grungy layout.

Fathers Day cards

I've been busy making cards for Fathers Day using some cuts from Cricut cartridges that I haven't used before.  Love that Cuttlebug too.  LOTS of fun!

Think my favourite is the red car but the fisherman is pretty cute.  What's your favoutite?

Cute as a bug

I've used Kaisercraft paper cut in square blocks and also cut out 'bugs' from the paper range.  The title 'Cute as a bug' comes from Cricut cartridge 'Just Cards'.  Some rolled paper edges and it makes for a cute layout about my wee lad playing on the spring bug.

Check out other 'bug' layouts in this weeks Fantabulous Cricut Challenge
