Purple Princess

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge is having a 'Sparkle & Bling' theme this week and I immediately thought of this layout.  My Purple Princess Party layout is all about the Sparkle & Bling!

I used Cricut cartridge 'Ornamental Iron' to cut the door and windows and then I added bling.  The crown invitation was made using 'Indie Art'.  The photos were arranged to look like a castle and the windows were used for journaling.

Same same

Here are two layouts I've done recently, both using the same design template.  I don't know about you, but I can't always come up with new designs every time... And if you like a layout then why not???

Laser gun card

I made this laser gun for a 9 year-old boy who was having his party at Laser Strike - Happy Birthday Ashton!

I used Cricut cartridge 'Boys will be Boys' for the cut and lettering.  I also used the good old Dymo labeller and silver sticky tape (which cuts well using the Cricut!).

Oh Baby

The baby cards I make are usually pink or blue, so I decided to use a different colour this time around!

I used Cricut cartridge 'Baby steps' to make this duckling safety pin card.  Its hard to tell from the photo, but I embossed some transparency and attached it with twine for something a bit different.

Check out other baby cards on Fantabulous Cricut Challenge.

Cards for little girls

I have been busy making cards for little girls.  I didn't mean for them to be all pink, but it ended up that way...

I have done a ballet dancer, crown and Peppa Pig using Cricut cartridges 'Twinkle Toes', 'Birthday Bash' and 'Create-a-critter' respectively.

Invites for a girls nite

My friend asked me to make her some invitations for a 'girls nite' party.  I thought cocktail invites screamed girly nite to me!

I used Cricut cartridge 'Nifty Fifties' for the cocktail glass, Cuttlebug embossing folder 'Dot Matrix' to look like bubbles, a real cocktail umbrella and a bit of bling (it is a girly party after all).  All the details were typed out on the back.

Sew, its your birthday...

A birthday card for my friend Carolyn, who sews.  I used Cricut cartridge 'Nifty Fifties' (no reflection of her age!).  I decided to wind cotton around the spool and hand stitch the sentiment on the inside of the card for a little something special.

Cards to hold Gift cards

I found this cute shirt card for holding gift cards (or money) on Pinterest.  Here's my version;

I decided to make a feminine version too;

Train card for birthday boy

Happy Birthday to Colter!  I figured you can't go wrong with a vehicle of some description for a 3 year-old boy.

Here's my tri-fold card using Cricut cartridges "My Community" for the train and "Celebrations" for the sentiment.

New resolve

I had a deep delve into my paper stash and was horrified.  Despite the appearance of vast volumes of paper, I actually have very little I like/will use and lots of scraps that aren't enough to make another layout.

So I have made a new resolution.... I will do a layout and then with the scraps , I will make cards from it straight away (if there is not enough to save for another layout).

I'm feeling quite good about this new outlook - to rid my stash of scraps and then I'll have to buy more paper, right???

Here's my first attempt at the scrap stash de-clutter.....
