I wanted to do a layout to remember my daughters first time she ever wore piggy tales (because its just too darn cute to forget). She was pretty excited about it all and she kept playing with them.
My inpiration came from Tracey Reynolds at Paperzone. She had used pieces of embossed cardstock behind a central photo. I've used pink core'dinations cardstock and also the Chocolate Box core'dinations (with a pink core).

Roly Poly spirella flowers
This is a layout of when my daughter first learnt how to roll over.
I made 'spirella' flowers using a cog-type cut from Cricut cartridge 'essential Accents' and then wound coloured cotton around (see close-up photo). This is for Challenge Me Happy #9 - Make your own embellishments.

Mmmm... cupcakes
Here's a funny layout of my son during his 'cupcake making' phase. He used to 'make' a cupcake using a sofa cushion, his sisters tricycle and a blanket! And a very gaudy colour combination too, which was challenging! It was such a quirky and funny little phase he went through that I'm glad I did a layout about it to remember for years to come. Kids are so cute!
The font is from Cricut cartridge 'Hello Kitty font' and the cupcake from 'Celebrations'. I punched holes around the three featured circles and place coloured paper behind them to match the colour of the patterned paper.
Check out the other yummy creations at Cooking with Cricut for their Cake, cupcake or teddy challenge.

Birthday cards
Usually I am busy making cards for kids but alot of my friends have had birthdays lately. I tried to make cards specifically for each person eg. 70's themed card for a 70's party, sewing card for a friend that sews and a pretty card for a girlfriend.

Princess party
My daughter recently had her 3rd birthday and wanted a purple Princess party.
I made some crown invites (purple of course) using Cricut cartridge 'Indie Art' and Cuttlebug folder 'Swiss dots'. I also made up some thank-you cards using photos taken from the party.
